SUMMARY:
The General Operations Intern will be responsible for a variety of transportation related tasks with a focus on drivers.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm - This is an in office position.

The General Operations Intern will be responsible for a variety of transportation related tasks with a focus on drivers.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm - This is an in office position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Send customers EDI
- Load entry into our TMS
- Arrange pick-ups for loads and make delivery appointments
- Monitor satellite messages
- Assure appointments are made and communicated
- Dispatch drivers and negotiate load assignments
- Communicate special instructions, direct messages to contractors via email, telephone, and satellite
- Solicit freight
- Accept shipments offered verbally, via email, and through load tendering/ EDI systems
- Enter accepted loads into the computer system including all necessary data to successfully communicate shipment to a third party, the contractor, and all internal customers
- Proactively support the organization’s goals and objectives
- High School Diploma
- The ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace environment, be detail oriented with strong written and oral skills while maintaining effective communication
- The ability to handle stressful situations in a non-confrontational, problem solving manner is required
